Patrick Frampton

1998 Gl1500 Goldwing
June 2008 - present
President: 2012 - present

Unlike some riders on the team, Patrick didn't start riding till he was in his early twenties with his first bike being a Vespa which he used in Victoria B.C. while serving in the Canadian Military with the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry. He served for 8 years and saw much of the world while in the army, and also served with NATO in both Cypress and Egypt on peacekeeping missions. The military taught him to ride and drive many different vehicles over the years and in the mid 1980's, after going from scooters to cruisers and then sportbikes, Patrick volunteered at Vancouver's famous racetrack Westwood to be a corner marshal and his love for fast bikes and riding was born. After starting a family, like most riders, he put motorcycles aside for a few years and then in 2007 he introduced his new wife Rainie, to motorcycles. She took to riding and the love of motorcycles just like him and she bought their present motorcycle, a 1998 GL1500 Goldwing. Rainie bought it because she said if she owned it Patrick would look after it better. This is true because all his riding friends say he has the cleanest & shiniest Goldwing around, a complete example of the GL1500. Soon after getting his Goldwing and while visiting the Vancouver Motorcycle Show that year he was asked to join the British Columbia Motorcycle Drill Team by one of it's founding members, Arnie Tucker. He was hooked, as Rainie said, because when he got home from his very first practice with the team, he was 6 inches off the ground and had a smile a mile wide. Patrick has held various positions on the team since 2007 and at present is the President and one of the teams callers. He says the best part of riding with the team is the friendship and camaraderie, and knowing his skill set gets better and better with each year, riding with the team. Patrick is a member of the GWRRA and is past Chapter Director of BC-A and is currently a certified Ride Course Instructor with GWRRA and Assn't District Director of British Columbia. He has been heard to say, one of the greatest joys in life is helping a fellow rider become better, safer and more confidant.
